Gas Supply Analyst
Mountaineer Gas Company is the largest natural gas distribution company in West Virginia with over 220,000 customers and 450 employees.
We service fifty (50) of the fifty-five (55) counties in West Virginia and maintain close to 6,000 miles of pipeline.
Job Summary GAS SUPPLY ANALYST - CORPORATE OFFICE (CHARLESTON, WV) We are currently recruiting in our Corporate office, Charleston, WV, for a Gas Supply Analyst.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
oResponsible for aspects of gas supply activities to ensure customer demand levels met which includes purchasing gas and responding to critical situations while working closely with other internal departments and external resources/contacts.
oResponsible for preparation and analysis activities such as dealing with daily forecasting of system throughput, negotiations of supplier and pipeline contracts, and payments for pipeline transportation invoices.
oMay provide additional support for Transportation and Exchange activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
oBachelor's degree from a four-year college in relevant field; or two to four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
oProficiency with various computer software such as Excel and Word; prefer advanced proficiency with Excel and familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to perform analytical activities.
oRequires ability to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations, technical procedures, and business periodicals; ability to write reports, prepare data responses, and effectively present information; and ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
Preferences:
oPrefer experience with WV natural gas regulations, regulated distribution systems, state utility regulatory commissions, interstate natural gas pipelines, regulatory and FERC accounting including gas industry pricing trends and techniques, negotiations, and public speaking.
