Lead Construction Technician

Description GAI Consultants, Inc.
is looking for Transportation Lead Construction Technicians to serve as inspectors to support highway/bridge projects throughout West Virginia.
This position will primarily support WVDOH Districts 1 and 6.
Job Duties:
Verification that the contractor's work being performed is in accordance with plans and contractual specifications.
Perform calculations for contractor payment.
Ability to read construction plans and documents.
Good communication skills.
Write daily technical reportsPhysical Requirements :
Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather conditions.
Ability to lift heavy objects such as testing equipment and materials samples.
Ability to walk on uneven terrain and navigate steps, stairs, and ladders.
Ability to work in hazardous environments and use required Personal Protective Equipment.
Environment will include dust, noise, tripping, and overhead hazards.
Travel Requirements :
Travel to sites as necessary.
Overnight stays.

Working in construction-related field.
(Highway and bridges preferred.
) (required)WVDOH TRET Level II,III, and IV certification strongly preferred.
Candidates without the certification, but who fulfill the certification requirements may be considered.
Level I candidates may be considered if years of experience requirement is met.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
