The Position:
The Facilities Coordinator works closely with Mel Wolf staff under the direction of the Program and Assistant Directors.
They will be responsible for the general maintenance of the development center's building and grounds and ensure that the facility remains clean and sanitary for the health and safety of the children and staff.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency.
One (1) year of relevant work experience.
Additional Requisites:
Experience working in the care and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Knowledge and ability to perform common household repairs Knowledge of basic yard care procedures Visual acuity to permit safe operation of equipment, including but not limited to floor buffer and monitor building and grounds for safety and cleanliness Auditory acuity is sufficient to hear children in the vicinity of work activities, to hear requests for assistance, and to participate in verbal and telephone communication to maintain the safety of the building and grounds Expressive communication skills to enable clear communication with children and staff during routine and emergent situations Must meet health requirements established by State licensing standards Can climb ladders and lift or carry up to 75 pounds Possess and maintain a valid driver's license Must pass a criminal background check
Responsibilities:
Daily Coordination Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors Clean all bathroom fixtures, inside and out Remove all garbage, clean garbage cans, and replace can liners Keeping outside of the building free of debris Vacuum carpeted areas Clean windows as needed, especially front doors Clean window blinds as needed Replace light bulbs and tubes as needed Restock supplies as needed in all rooms Assist kitchen staff in maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen Perform other duties as assigned by the Mel Wolf Director Weekly Coordination Maintain a clean and organized supplies closet and conduct inventory audits alerting the Assistant or Program Director of supplies that require a re-order Conduct vehicle maintenance as required by WV DHHR Childcare Licensing Pick up orders regularly from stores or other programs as required Monthly Coordination Attend staff meetings and training sessions as assigned Shampoo carpets in classrooms Change furnace and water fountain filters Dust kitchen refrigerator and freezer coils Additional Coordination as Needed Operate a 15-passenger van in compliance with applicable laws, to transport children between locations (accompanied by another adult) Buff and wax vinyl floors Shovel snow and apply salt to walks Plant flowers, grass, and shrubs as requested and maintain the garden areas Repair furnishings, and fixtures as requested Assist with painting walls, replacing ceiling tiles, and other repairs or improvements as requested.
Cut back tree limbs on the playground, remove debris & maintain the cleanliness of rubberized mulch Responsible for keeping all vehicle maintenance, inspections, and licensure up to date Other duties as assigned Why Should You Apply?
